Christy

We have two adopted children. The second child who is now 3, we adopted when he was seven weeks old. It has been absolutely horrible. We began seeing a therapist when he was 18 months old, but I did not agree with "holding therapy" so we tried play therapy. There I was told that it was basically my fault and I needed to work on myself only. I have tried very hard and things are not much better. There is still no bond between us and it is very hurtful to me and my son. I would desperately like some help. The wierd thing is that my son is great with other people. Others find him extremely witty and a real "character". With my husband and I, he's extremely negative all the time, whines all the time, fusses all the time, etc... Why does he only do this with us? My family thinks I'm nuts because they don't see him acting this way very often. At home, he is seldom pleasant. Can someone offer a suggestion? My other son who we adopted at two weeks, is great ... we are extremely bonded and share our lives with one another. I want that with the little one too!
