Help. I need someone to talk to who understands what I am going through. I have a 3-year-old dd who has been diagnosed with RAD. I fostered her and her 2-year-old half sister in my home for over a year, and in March, received PMC of both. Their bm was and still is a drug addict. I have no problems with the younger dd. She has been with me since she was only 7 months old. But my 3-year-old is becoming increasingly violent and uncontrollable. Her tantrums follow contact with her birth-grandmother, and last for several days. She has been kicked out of 5 daycares, and has been blackballed from the rest. I entered a job-sharing arrangement at work in order to be home with her more, and hired a live-in nanny to help on the three days I work. Last night my dd attacked our nanny and bit her on the face. I was completely shocked. God bless our nanny for sticking with us and understanding our dd needs special love and care. DD has been in therapy for over a year, but was recently released after the PMC was final. But recent contact with her grandmother has re-ignited the violent behavior. I try reasoning with the grandmother about the negative things she says to Shelby (about us) and how it affects her, but she refuses to acknowledge that there is anything wrong with DD and will not work with me. I am considering cutting off contact with the grandmother, but am afraid of how it will affect DD. I have arranged for her to continue therapy on Monday, but in the mean time. HELP. I need some advice. I love these children with all my heart. And I will never give up on my DD. But I have to find some answers.
