We adopted a little boy from China 1 1/2 years ago. He was 4 1/2 at the time and was in an orphanage from 5 days old until 4 1/2. He came to us kicking, biting, screaching, and hitting to say a few. He is also unappropriately affectionate to strangers, is a master manipulator, and has little to no eye contact with us. He has also hurt our 2 biological children ie. hitting our 3 year old over the head with a tennis racket. When we are out in public he comes across as the sweetest little boy. I've lost a lot of "friends" as they think I'm crazy. He has come between my husband and I, but my husband now admits and sees what he does. He incessantly chatters when alone with my husband about nothing at all.
I had thought I was the crazy one until I heard about RAD and he has about 90% of the symptoms. For the first time, I'm finally seeking the appropriate help (I think). I would love to be a part of this support group so that I know I'm not alone in this situation.
