My 2 year old son Kaleb has an attachment disorder because I left him when he was 10 months old, ( Nov/Dec 2000) with my parents when I ran into some problems and I didn't come around too often. I have been back now since June of 2001. Trying steadily to build back the bond that I broke with my son and it is the hardest thing in the world. It is VERY obvious he has an attachment disorder. He thinks of my parents as his parents. I am trying very hard and doing all the research and doing everything I can to bond with him again and to make him feel safe with me. Somedays he is okay with me doing the caretaking but others he will hit me and kick me and cry for momma and poppa (my parents) so I am really at a loss at what to do. Any input on what to do would be of great help to me.
