Prayer request for my mom

I ask for your prayers on behalf of my 78-year-old mom who is having rotator cuff replacement surgery this morning on her right shoulder. She's been feeling anxious about it for a number of reasons but primarily because she doesn't yet know where she will go for rehab after she's released from the hospital.
My mom has had a lot of surgeries in her life-time--beginning with a time when I was about ten years old and she broke her ankle when she slipped on some ice coming out of church. As she's gotten older, and her health issues of high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, and others have increased, each surgery presents a greater risk. On top of that, since my dad died eight years ago, her will to live and cope with these issues has decreased. My greatest fear at this moment is that she could very well die during this surgery. She wants so very much to "go home" and to be free of her sadness and pain.
Please pray for me too. It's only been three weeks since one of my older brothers died unexpectedly. I'm feeling rather overwhelmed by even the remote possibility of another loss...as much as I am trying to think positively. When I talked with my mom on the phone last night, she seemed to be in fairly good spirit. Her main concern was that the doctor who was supposed to give his final approval for the surgery had not done so yet. Apparently he was recovering from his own heart surgery--which would lead me to assume that he has someone else covering his cases.
Hopefully things will go smoothly this morning and the surgery will be successful in alleviating the excessive pain she feels in her shoulder.
Thanks, in advance, for your prayers and support.
Liz

I just finished talking with one of my sisters who said that our mom made it through the surgery fine. Thanks for the prayers and support!

She should be out of the hospital by the end of the week...then off to a rehab center. I guess that location is still yet to be determined, but I would expect that something will be decided in another day or two at the very least! She's got to wear a big sling for another month at least. Lots of challenges ahead given that it was her right shoulder and she's right handed, but that's what the rehab is all about.
Thanks again for the prayers.
